About the role:

The CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization) Intern is primarily responsible for assisting with the functions of the Maintenance Planner which includes assisting in forecast and coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on given fleet of aircrafts. Ensuring all required documentation is up to date in accordance with CAA / manufacturer regulations and requirements. Monitoring any inconsistencies and making adjustments to improve efficiency, maintenance, engineering orders, client instructions, advisory letters, etc. Reporting on progress and any issues that emerge and / or projected problematic forecasts.

Responsibilities:

Daily:

1. Assist with Building work packs
2. Aircraft research
3. Assist with Maintenance Forecasting
4. Administration
5. Flight folio administration, follow-up
6. Logbook entries to be generated
7. Assist when overload of data capturing occurs
8. Assist with SB’s / AD’s and Modifications Research
9. Calculation of hours and flight folios
10. General Housekeeping

Weekly:

1. Assist with generating AMP Task Card work packs for A/C timeously, at least 100 HRS or 1 month before due date (Excluding F406 & 425 Aircrafts) for Pre-Maintenance Meeting purposes. Once task cards have been finalized an AMS III WP can be generated which will be the official Work Pack that the Engineers will sign off
2. Drawing up a Customer Advisory letter reflecting all the items due for the upcoming check and all OOP items and components due up to the next scheduled due check
3. Assisting AME’s with queries on work orders and work packs
4. Assist with scheduling AD’s / SB’s and Engineering orders according to the Engineering order instruction
5. Assist with the research of “new” aircraft and populating the computerized system with correct, accurate data
6. Assist with forecasts for scheduled maintenance and ensure correctness
7. Ensuring the A/C cupboards for the A/C under your management is kept updated with the latest Work Packs and Documents. A/C cupboards should be always neat and presentable
8. Assist with movements for on-condition components on the computerized system from time to time
9. Ensuring all A/C and component documentation are filed as per the Technical Records procedures
10. Closing of work packs, AD’s, SB’s and EO’s ensuring all the correct A/C and / or component HRS/CYC on date of closure and confirming that the next due HRS/CYC/date schedules correctly
11. Adhering to all policies and procedures with regards to generating WP’s to ensure the MM/MPD/MRB for Airframe, Engines and APU’s corresponds to the AMP
12. Ensure the effective control and update the hard time components (Life Limited Parts) of aircraft maintained by Westair Wings.

13. Accurate and logical research and investigation of component part numbers and effectivity, this excludes CAMO from ordering any parts from Procurement
14. Assist with evaluation and update of system on computerized system per aircraft registration to correspond with model
15. Assist with generating WO’s for due Components 6 months in advance
16. Drafting of Customer Adv letters for Major Module Components one year in advance
17. Terminology on work orders (P/N, S/N, TSO, TSN, CSO, CSN, Repaired unit, replaced unit, Overhaul etc)
18. Component certification inspection, scanning and linking to equipment on computerized system
19. Work packs (component movements) monitoring and updating
20. Quality of work must at all times be unquestionable and accurate
21. CAMO Administration Functions
22. Work quality reliability accuracy and delivery
23. Punctuality housekeeping personal appearance and office
24. Willingness to assist in department as departmental pressure requires
25. Verifying all data on WP’s/work orders are correct and all required documentation is attached
26. Capturing WP’s and WO’s on the computerized system
27. Control Generate OOP scheduled tasks

Monthly:

1. Generate monthly calendar due tasks
2. Updated monthly spec sheets
3. Engine LLPs to updated twice a month
4. Monthly WPs to be verified as well as Work Pack Summary and be sent to the relevant parties for approvals and for invoicing
5. Provide Estimates on Labour Hours, Costing of Parts, and Services in the form of Customer Advisory Letters and Client Instructions
6. Aircraft/Engines/Propeller/APU Maintenance Manual Revisions to be verified twice a month
7. Assist with Auditing Work Packs

  • Degree in engineering would be an advantage, experience of working in a competitive, dynamic, and service driven environment. Experience in planning, forecasting, and rostering, and be able to operate in cross-functional relationships.
