Medical Rescue Africa (MRA) is based at Eros Airport in Windhoek, Namibia and focuses on the provision of innovative medical emergency evacuation solutions to various customers across Africa as well as Aeromedical Services through a network of skilled paramedics, nurses and emergency doctors. MRA forms part of the Westair Group of Companies.

Trainer & Training Coordinator

  • To conduct emergency care work / training for the company according to the Health Professions Councils prescribed protocols, scope of practice and the Namibian Labour Acts.
  • Function as a team member in his or her specific role and purpose to collectively reach the company goals.
  • Will be required to work away from home.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop training programs, including schedules, materials, and assessments, tailored to meet the needs of the company.
  • Schedule and coordinate training sessions, ensuring that all logistical aspects are managed effectively.
  • Assess training effectiveness through feedback, tests, and performance evaluations and implement improvements, as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.
  • Provide support to trainers and trainees before, during, and after training sessions.
  • Ensure that all training programs comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Manage training materials and resources, ensuring they are up to-date and available when needed.
  • Always comply with company SOPs and legal requirements.
  • Training Specific: Where applicable and with the necessary training, the employee will be expected to support the remote site response teams with training the following:
    • Basic Motor vehicle extrication
    • Basic Confine space rescue
    • Hazmat rescue & treatment
    • Basic firefighting assistance
    • AHA-BLS for Healthcare Providers
    • Basic First Aid.
    • AVMED
  • Employee must ensure to keep updated with latest protocols, treatment trends as well as required CPD Points.
  • Take full responsibility for junior staff / delegates.

General & Administrative Duties:

• Ensure that all daily logistical issues are taken care off as per company procedures and requested by your manager.
• Report any logistical problems to Operations Director.
• Complete specific assigned tasks to a satisfactory level
• Base inspections (iAuditor).
• Any additional assigned task which falls under his or her scope of practice and which are reasonable and approved by MRA Senior Management.
• Annually complete the required training competencies as set out by the MRA Management (OSCHEs)
• Immediately report any known defects.

Vehicle & Equipment maintenance:


• Ensure that all company vehicles are cleaned and maintained as per company procedures.
• Ensure equipment is in a clean and in good working condition.
• Report any vehicle & equipment defects.

Professional corporate image


• Uniform and personal grooming must always comply with company dress code.
• Protect corporate company image.

Minimum Qualification, Knowledge and Skills:


• Have a minimum & maintain medical qualification of ECP – Intermediate Paramedic.
• Be registered with the health professions Councils of Namibia.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Education or related field.
• Must be able to communicate well with other professionals.
• Must consist of good leadership qualities to lead and manage junior staff members.
• Be mature, innovative, and capable of working without supervision.
• Experience in the pre-hospital emergency care environment in addition to a minimum of 4 – 5 years of experience in training.
• Code B drivers’ license & Public Drivers permit (PDP)
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems (LMS).
• BLS Instructor qualification and First aid instructor qualification
• Have BLS, ITLS and ACLS
