An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced Training Manager (Nominated Person Crew Training) to join our aviation team. This is a leadership responsibility for the management, oversight and delivery of all flight and operational training activities across both scheduled and non-scheduled flying operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring training excellence, safety compliance and regulatory alignment across all training programs.

For our team we are looking for a Training Manager who will be based in Windhoek, Namibia.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise all company flight and operational training in compliance with Namibia Civil Aviation Regulations (NAMCARS).
  • Oversee training standards, manuals and simulator use to ensure operational excellence.
  • Conduct and supervise initial, recurrent and special flight training including instructor development.
  • Provide strategic input into safety, quality and security matters in collaboration with respective managers.
  • Liaise with the NCAA and international aviation authorities, training organisations and industry associations.
  • Act as Pilot in Command (PIC) for company flights and participate in route and base training as required.
  • Manage training-related communication, reporting and feedback loops with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure financial efficiency in training programs while maintaining high training standards.
  • Lead and supervise the training team including recruitment, mentoring and performance oversight.

Minimum requirements:

  • Must hold or have held an instructor rating on at least one or similar type/class operated under the AOC;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ aviation experience as a flight crew member.
  • In-depth knowledge of Westair Aviation’s training systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in the development and administration of training programs in a regulated aviation environment.
