The PRAM will lead the Engineering and Maintenance Department, ensuring the airworthiness, safety and technical reliability of the Westair fleet. This senior role entails the establishment and oversight of maintenance programs, engineering procedures and regulatory compliance, aligned with Namibia Civil Aviation Regulations (NAMCARS) and Westair requirements.

For our team we are looking for a Person Responsible Aircraft Maintenance (PRAM) who will be based in Windhoek, Namibia.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of continuing airworthiness and maintenance planning to support commercial operations.

• Ensure full compliance with NAMCARS and safety standards.

• Develop and implement technical and maintenance policies and procedures.

• Oversee the maintenance program, including application of all P.A. / A.D and S.B. requirements.

• Control departmental budgets and manage resources effectively.

• Supervise recruitment, management and development of technical staff.

• Oversee the performance of maintenance contractors and service providers.

• Represent the company in technical matters with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders.

• Ensure the availability of up-to-date technical publications, software and information systems.

• Lead internal audits, quality assurance and reliability review processes.

• Oversee MEL development and compliance in conjunction with Flight Operations and Compliance Managers.

• Ensure effective recordkeeping and documentation in line with regulatory standards.

• Contribute to fleet development projects, including aircraft induction and phase-out.

• Maintain high standards of aircraft appearance through dedicated cleaning and maintenance programs.

Minimum requirements:

• A relevant engineering degree;

OR

• Hold or have held an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License with type ratings on aircraft operated under Westair Aviation’s AOC;

OR

• Be a commercial pilot with more than five (5) years of aviation experience directly related to aircraft maintenance.

• Have a thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance control systems.

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant aircraft types, equivalent to a General Familiarisation Course as provided by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

• In-depth understanding of NAMCARS and applicable international airworthiness regulations.

• Proven experience in continuing airworthiness management or technical leadership roles.

• Strong leadership and organizational capabilities with a track record of managing maintenance teams and contractors.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Must be accepted or eligible for acceptance by the NCAA as a Nominated Postholder (PRAM).
